Genealogy brick walls from my research.

If you have information on one of these brick walls, comment on that post.

Yes, I know the images are all missing. It'll take me some time to fix it.

Where are the citations?

This started in the "About this blog" column to the right. That's not a lot of room, though. I wanted to clarify about the lack of citations because that's important.

Citations are important, but...

I choose to NOT cite rather than cite badly. Most importantly, some people will just say "but it was cited" and not look closely. Don't do that!

For those who do, I've skipped the citations so you'll hopefully question everything. I'd rather leave you questioning what's shared here than taking it as the truth because there were a few incomplete citations tossed about.

I'm not here to do your research for you. I really lack the motivation to publish my research, even. I don't know why, I've never had the need to write the family history. Still, sharing online has other purposes, like being cousin bait, which is what this blog is.

I know the power of writing a research report and I cite my sources for myself. But I'm fairly forgiving when I cite them for me. I'm not willing to share those same "formats" for all to read (i.e. online).

I don't cite online unless I can do it really well.

And I would never get an entry up if I had to write it and cite it. I'm more likely to come back and add citations (a few at a time) once something is posted.

I use the same motto I use for my other blogs. It's not perfect, but it's done.
